Pulaski County Public Library Computer Use Policy
RULES FOR COMPUTER USE
Time on the library computers is monitored by software and limited to two (2)
hours per day. A valid library card, in the customers possession, is
required to use any of the librarys public access computers. The person
using the computer must be the person named on the library card. Being an
authorized user of someone elses library card does not entitle the
additional card user to access the Internet with that card. Customers may not
use other family members cards or their library card numbers to extend
time on the computer past the 2 hour maximum limit per day.
VISITORS
Visitors to our community, who do not qualify for a library card, may be issued
a visitors pass which are available at the reference desk.
FINES
Fines and overdue material can hinder Internet access for a patron. Any patron
having overdue or lost materials cannot use the computers until the ammount owed is reduced below $10.00.
FILTERS
Library computer hardware and software is not be used for any unlawful purpose
including (but not limited to) fraud, gambling, or viewing pornography.
Tampering with or altering the software or hardware is not permitted. All
computers are filtered. The staff will override the filter at the request of
anyone 18 years or older.
SAVING DATA
Internet files may be saved to flash drives, or emailed to a customer's account.
WIRELESS
Wireless Internet is available at the main library and the branch libraries in
Nancy and Burnside. These systems are not filtered.
COPIES
Printing is available from most of the public computers. The cost is 10 cents
per page for black and white copies and 25 cents per page for color copies.
Each customer is allowed 5 free pages per day of black and white copies, after
that, copies must be paid for in advance. You may pay by adding money to your
library account or use cash at the SAM automatic teller.
