Commonwealth Journal

Digitized copies of the Commonwealth Journal. These records can be accessed outside the Library. Contains the following newspapers: Commonwealth Journal (1966-1996), Commonwealth (1920-1965), Somerset Journal (1924-1965), and the Central Record (1935). There is also a search function that allows you to search for keywords within the articles.

Ancestry.com is a subscription-based genealogy research website and DNA product with over 16 billion records online.
Ancestry.com is available on Library computers ONLY, it cannot be accessed from home.

AtoZdatabases is the premier Reference, Research, Marketing, Mailing Lists/Sales Leads, and Job-Search Database. The database includes 30 million business & executive profiles, over 240 million residents with interests, hobbies and lifestyles information, over 7 million real-time job listings, 2 Million new businesses, over 12 million healthcare professionals, over 12 million new movers, 2 million new homeowners, and much more. The databases are ideal for sales leads, mailing lists, market research, employment opportunities, background searches, finding friends, relatives and a whole lot of other possibilities.


A-Z World Food

A to Z World Foods is the only food database that covers food culture and traditional recipes for 174 countries. It's divided into six catagories: National Cuisine, Regional Cuisine, Daily Meals, Etiquette, Special Occasion Foods, and trivia. 9000 food photos, 6000 recipes, articles and more! Mobile friendly for your tablet, laptop, or smart phone.

Cypress Resume, an online resume builder that lets you create professional-quality resumes in three quick and simple steps.
Available to patrons for free from inside the Library or at our branches.

Digital Learn

The Public Library Association's site, DigitalLearn.org is an online hub for digital literacy support and training.

Included in DigitalLearn.org is a collection of self-directed tutorials for end-users to increase their digital literacy. Feedback from public library staff directed PLA to develop courses on the most basic skills, such as using a computer, navigating a web site, and searching. Modules are video-based with narration, typically 6 to 22 minutes long, written in plain language, and often at an elementary to middle school reading level. DigitalLearn.org provides intentional, foundational instruction to be taken at the pace of the learner.


Gale Virtual Reference Library

Gale Virtual Reference Library offers a collection of reference eBooks  containing the following subjects: art, biography, business, education, environment, history, information and publishing, law, literature, medicine, multicultural studies, nation and world, religion, science, social science, and technology.


KYVL (KY Virtual library)

KYVL provides access to over 60 encyclopedias, full text and citation databases as well as test prep and skill-building resources, how to do research tutorials and more.
Contact the Reference desk (606-679-8401) for your ID and password to use KYVL at home.


Learning Express Library

A testing site, take practice exams for college prep, careers, and high school equivalency (GED), among others.
You just register once at the Reference desk and can use your login anywhere! At home, in the library or on the go!


Mango Languages

Mango Languages creates lovable language-learning experiences with over 70 languages available!
Mango Languages can be accessed while in the Library building or from home. All you need is your Library card number. You also have the option to create an account so that you may keep track of your progress.


NoveList

NoveList is a source for assisting fiction readers in finding new authors and titles. It includes information on more than 150,000 titles, including authors, publication information, subjects, book reviews, discussion guides, and feature articles.


Scholastic Teachables

Printable activities for any subject: math, science, reading comprehension, STEM, writing, and beyond (for grades Pre-K through 8th).
This database is available inside the Library and each branch and is also available outside the Library with your Library card number.
